Okay, then I want to tell, how I came to the ancestor research.
The search started
The fever began with the search for the uncle of my husband, from whom only the emigration probably to Canada was known. In the Canadian telefon-directory no Burzlaff was found, but hundreds in the USA. So I had to go back to the roots in order to find the uncle. The birthplace of the my husband's father was Kaffzig, a little village in Pommern. But how to find out more information about this place?

My search in the worldwideweb brought me to the mailing lists of the "Pommersche Greif" and the district Schlawe. There I posted my request about a Burzlaff who wmigrated in the 20's from Kaffzig or environment. And I was in luck... Andreas from Hannover knew the emigrants Hermann Ballenthin and Paul Burzlaff, who emigrated 1924 of Gross Schwirsen to the USA. And he even gave me a contact address. I wrote to Sandra and attached some old photos. Her answer was upsetting... in the photos was her father and his friend Paul Burzlaff. And I became nearly blowed when I heard that Sandra went to school with Paul's son. So the contact was made fast. And it turned out fast too, that there are still 5 another unknown aunts.
Without helpful people and the possibilities of the www this success would have been not possible. Our family and circle of friends became larger with many dear peoples and I am grateful for the many nice contacts, which resulted only from the ancestor research.
